I’m interviewing next week for a solutions engineer at a company I really like, which I mistakenly applied for as I saw they needed ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. Any devs work for a nonprofit and get paid well? I get the impression that those two things are mutually exclusive. Is that so? I think I would absolutely love using my tech skills to do good full time instead of just in my spare time, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to afford the pay cut. For reference, I make about $100k.

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager.
