We pay 23/hr for our three kids.
Where?
I’m in the Denver area. For one kid it’s around $25/hour and for two it’s around $30. We pay our nanny a bit more than that because she’s been with us for a couple of years so has gotten raises.
Thank you!
Boulder area here, a few dollars per hour higher than what Associate 1 noted for each but generally agree with their range!
We’re in Chicago and pay pretty well locally, but pay $27 for 1 and $31 for 2. Our nanny is a part-time teacher so we’re okay with it since we value the care we’re getting.
It’s also “paid legally” vs cash, which does unfortunately add a bit on top of our cost per hour. (6-7ish percent I think plus a low monthly cost for getting paystubs / tax statements). Spouse works in a profession that gets SEC audits so we wanted to do things by the book. People are willing to accept less in cash.

Denver here. We pay $30/hr for one, and will go up to $33/hr for two with our nanny that just started this summer. She also loads/unloads dishwasher (and keeps our house spotless), but otherwise normal nanny duties.
Our last nanny was hired in 2023 at $27 and had increased to $28.40 when we parted ways this summer. She would have gotten an increase to around $31 when we added a second child, but she literally did *nothing* around the house - not even wiping down dirty surfaces from our toddler. She sat and read romance novels on the couch for 2-3 hours while our kid napped.
Based on the process we just ran, $27-$30 is pretty standard when paying through payroll. Happy to chat further.
Thank you!
Curious to hear how people have found their nanny too!
Word of mouth for us, she was referred to me by one of my bosses
In NC I pay $25 for a high quality nanny for my baby under 1
