I don’t even remember to tell my person when I travel anyways
ya I only did because the time zone change screwed up my schedule and I needed to move it. I want to just not say anything going forward but that feels unethical
Don’t ask don’t tell. Not sure why you said you were leaving.
Got it. Well, say you’re back now. They only made a big deal about it because you informed them and they legally/professionally had to state their policy. As far as going forward, you can be wherever you say you are. I guarantee you they won’t care as long as you don’t blatantly disclose it and force them to take action.
I asked my therapist about it and she said that as long as she is in a licensed state and you are only temporarily out of state it's not a problem
How temporary is this and how new are you to this person? As a former therapist, I would say that this, to me, is a judgment call. It’s technically not legal to provide services outside of your licensed state (which I think is stupidity- and licensing in our country is a huge scam) nonetheless, it’s the law. So I mean, providing therapy to you means a few things- they’re willing to go against their licensure rules and they trust that you are not a risk to yourself or that you’re not going to somehow make a thing of it. God forbid something happened like you became suicidal, they’d lose their license because if you’re in Texas how can I help you from NY if you’re a risk to yourself or others? Anyway, it is sort of rigid to just say “peace out” given the state of the world is virtual right now………
