I am currently a fund accountant and am thinking about jumping ship to a new firm. I’m at a small fund and although the culture and WLB are great, I can see that there is no opening for assistant controller coming any time soon. Is it a bad if I consider looking elsewhere when I’ve only been there for a year? I hear it’s a strong market for candidates so I don’t want to miss out on a potential better opportunity for my career. Greatly appreciate any input.
Can you rank up as a developer too fast? I was recently promoted from a junior to mid level role then applied for a mid level role at another company which came back with an offer for a senior role. Is there any danger in accepting?
Would leaving consulting and trying an entry level sales position a good move in terms of experience for the future?
Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert. I know opportunities are far and few between right now, but looking for either energy or supply chain consulting role. Open to travel once resumed. If anyone is aware of a need, I'd appreciate the help!
Considering an opportunity at a late stage startup that went through series d last year. It is a Vp level role (head of xyz). Expected ipo in 2-3 years. What kind of equity % of company’s last valuation can I expect? Never have worked for a startup.. most of my exp is with b4 and large tech.
Exit options after 6 months in ZS? DAA here. WLB has landed me in hospital twice and my client seems to only care that in my absense, work gets delayed. Also, please recommend any skills one should/can learn on weekends to enhance selection.
Looking for a position of Wintel/VMware lead, have 10 YOE, would be great if any can refer on any open requirements in Bangalore. Thanks in advance
Do interviews in tech (for non-engineering roles) require case interviews? Could anyone give me more info on the usual process for something like a PM / strategy & ops role?
Hey y’all, what are some good exit opportunities to look for in Canada? Some context: I’m a healthcare consultant without a clinical background, but I really don’t love the work I’m doing. Not interested in joining the public sector and unfortunately there aren’t too many startups or interesting tech companies in the healthcare/life sciences space in Canada. Any thoughts?
Recently had my opinion shut down because “as a white male, I was coming from a position of privilege and could not possibly understand”. Excuse me? My skin pigmentation has more bearing than any life experience, education and past hardships and condemns me to being inherently incapable of ever being able to grasp certain concepts?
Currently a Senior GL Accountant and my boss asked if a want to pivot to Senior Revenue Accountant to fill someone’s position. What are the pros and cons of moving to the revenue side? I am mainly worried about pigeonholing myself into revenue when I am unsure if that is where I want my career to go.
The hiring manager called to congratulate and said should be getting the offer in the email without disclosing any details. How to negotiate in this case?

Is it a mistake to leave consulting before the Manager level? I have 6 years of consulting experience thus far and am ready to try something different. Not sure if I should stick it out until Manager though for better future exit opportunities
McKinsey people a few weeks ago: “Sorry, I can’t refer you because it would dilute my network quality and I won’t even take the time to get to know you.” McKinsey people now: “Take my referral and apply now!” What a difference $5k makes.

Hey Fishes. Currently I am working as a Data Modeler with 4 years experience. I have a working knowledge of SQL, ETL. I have also learnt Python, Machine Learning. Now, I want to move towards a Data Analyst role. Will my work experience of Data Modeling, SQL and ETL be considered as a relevant experience for Data Analyst role?
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Hoping you all get a much-needed break today and do something for yourself ❤️
Looking to return to Big 4 as a consultant now that I have some experience; however, I’m not sure if the reason I’m not getting any interviews is because of covid or what’s on my resume/lack thereof. Has anyone gotten hired at Big 4 during this time and have any help or insight for me? Thanks!

I have no criminal record and yet am stressing about my background check taking more than a few days. Anyone else triggered by their anxiety in the hiring process? Gonna take a walk to shake this feeling.
I've 6.5 yrs of experience in automation testing & agile methodology. Currently in CL9. I joined ACN with mindset that I'll move into management role after couple of years, but they put me into a project which is 100% opposite to my previous experience, both domain and techn wise. I'm planning to take up Agile Project Management role immediately (Scrum Master or PO) & my supervisor said he will help me making the shift. Is it worth for me to make this shift right now? Recently completed MBA.
I had an interview that I severely bombed (nerves got me) and obvi didn’t move forward. Is it a smart move to reach out to the interview and say 1) I didn’t accurately represent myself and 2) after...
What's the deal with manual expenses ? I had a few this week because my amex card was missing. Is it okay to report them ? What is the policy about manual expenses anyway ?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Could my full time offer with pwc get rescinded if I take a summer internship at a bank before I start?
Gotta love how the people who claim to hate cancel culture are also threatening to boycott MLB. Baseball will be just fine without cult45 members. It’s pathetic how one mediocre man can rent so much space in people’s brains. Play Ball!!!
