Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.

Looking for advice on business trips. My boss kindly asked me if I want to go meet a client out of state along with business folks. It will be my first visit to a client. What do you think are the benefits of these trips? I’m fairly new in my career and in-house so would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

I want to go back to work in the dental field. I was an assistant for 10+ years. I miss helping people smile. But trying to find work that I can do within school hours is so hard! Hi Everyone! I have a background in health research. I received my first offer as a ux researcher 3 (1 step below senior) which is pretty competitive compared to my former field. It is with fanduel for 120k base, 6% bonus (8% next year since I’m not starting in jan) , I believe 10% in equity (12.5% next year) total comp 130. I’m extremely grateful but just wanted to see if this was acceptable for the industry. I’m mixed methods and they want to build out their quant side. Should I accept as is?

I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.
Do companies hire for AWS profiles with good packages at beginners level?
