Classic, expat packages dying. Influx of essentially free labor to some degree. Leading to everyones suffering
This, along with the fact that the vast majority of expats view a Middle East job as a temporary posting, so nobody really goes out of their way to be super professional or caring, as they will be leaving in a few years and are not looking to build a reputation or long-term connections
The interest is high mostly in finance circles now. Big hedge funds moved to UAE. I’m seeing people moving a lot from UK and EU.

This is exactly what happens when leadership from a specific country keeps hiring people from their nationality instead of focussing on global skills for an extended period of time

Dubai salaries are racing to the bottom regardless of the profile. Even the blue eyes/blonde hair spell doesn't work anymore. It's all about who you know, what you mean to them, and what they can do for you. Otherwise, the best CVs are as good as toilet paper in Dubai.
