4.5 weeks, 20 years in industry

like

4.5 weeks (includes sick time), 10 yoe
I also like that the company has a level where if u are new and are 35+ years old the pto starts at 20 days and not just the 3 weeks.

like

4 weeks including sick time. 10 yoe. 7 years at current company. Get another week at 10 year tenure.

5 weeks, 6 yrs in management, 12 yrs in industry.

Just shy of 4 weeks (5.85hrs/pay period) plus a 40 hour negative PTO allowance (meaning you can take more than you’ve accrued but you will have to re-accrue it before your next PTO.) 3 YOE post graduation, EIT. Looking forward to the 3 month sabbatical at the 7 year mark.

16 days, 4.5 years

4 weeks I believe, but my company is very flexible. I take a day here or there but only a couple times per year would I take off an entire week. I never run out of days.
yoe: 24

4 weeks accrued over the year, not including sick or holidays. Been in the NYC industry for 17 years. 5 weeks at my new company.

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Hey folks. Question for the majority of us still under the big 3 holding co’s...are raises a thing anymore? I’ve been at my (smaller) agency almost 5yrs and got one raise (a nice $12k bump) during that time—is that sufficient? Is one increase in that span normal? I also recognize being somewhere 5 years is rare these days. The honeymoon period at any agency seems to be 2.5—3yrs before bolting. Not complaining, just asking. Have y’all been getting raises/bumps in any kind of regular cycle? Thx.

Additional Posts in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction

I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I don’t want to go back to school for architecture. Ultimately, I want to own my own company developing real estate.

Do any RA’s or PE’s on here sign and seal for their company? My firm is trying to bestow these responsibilities on us and I’m holding out for an increase in comp. This responsibility was not originally in my job description. Additionally I am the only one with my job title being required to do this. Everyone else that will be signing have a more senior role then me. Any feedback is appreciated.

How soon is too soon to start looking and applying to jobs after accepting a position?

Context:

I recently accepted a position at the company and have been working as a temp for the past 3 months. I really enjoy the people I work with and the company seems to really support its employees, however it is in a field that doesnt exactly align with what I would like to be doing. And unfortunately the compensation package is also lacking.
