Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

I work as in house counsel, and a lot of the employees are not qualified for their position and don’t understand legal/compliance even though they’ve been trained and should be competent enough to understand. I am constantly cleaning up messes and repeating myself and teaching rudimentary skills to the same people every day. Dubai people I live in Marquise Square tower and my neighbor is having a party literally every day till 4-5 in the morning- I spoke to him and he apologized and promised to keep it quiet but he didn’t. So I spoke to the security if they can tell them to calm down and the security said that he can’t do anything as it’s the weekend! Is that normal or should they give me a noise compliance and force him to stay quiet after some time.
