Curious for how this varies in different areas, different firms, different sides — what amount of money constitutes a “nuisance settlement” in your eyes? (Also posted this in the L&E bowl to compare a different litigation area.)

limits will adjust their value but yeah anything less than $15k. I tend not to settle a case for less than $10k because there's always 10 available whether they admit it or not.

I'm currently working as a learning specialist/trainer for a large organization for the past 8 years, making a literal over $53,000. The past two years I have been training new employees training courses that last 5 weeks. My department is transitioning to a platform where they want learning specialists to create content and short learning videos to support the business line and I assume eventually replace the training. I wanted to get some feedback on appropriate salary negotiations. Thanks!

4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. I respect the solo a lot, he’s a mentor, but I’ve got kids and I gotta get paid. Trying not to burn bridges, but I can’t wait years to get cut in. Advice?

Hello all, I'm a very green attorney, never tried a single case or even was second or third chair, but managed to land a litigation associate position at a Plaintiff's firm. Does anyone remember their first trial? How did you feel and how did it turn out by comparison? Anything you wish you did differently?
I know in THEORY what the process of trials are but thanks to COVID I haven't been able to observe them in real life so I'm very nervous for the day I finally enter a courtroom.
