I'm currently working as a learning specialist/trainer for a large organization for the past 8 years, making a literal over $53,000. The past two years I have been training new employees training courses that last 5 weeks. My department is transitioning to a platform where they want learning specialists to create content and short learning videos to support the business line and I assume eventually replace the training. What kind of split does your firm give you for bringing in cases? Trying to negotiate with my firm for an increase. Currently, I get 15% plus my base salary.

For Plaintiff's attorneys, how big is your caseload? What kind of cases are the majority of them and are they in suit? I am currently handling 150+ mostly MVAs and premise liability cases, just about all in suit, (on top of about 10 DUIs and other small traffic matters) and I feel like I'm drowning and looking to jump ship. What is normal/to be expected? In NYC area if that matters

What's your preference for plaintiff's side? Steady pay at approximately $120k with no bonuses, or a base salary of $70k plus a cut of what you close over a minimum threashold? Midwest-ish market. In both situations, you get a cut of what you bring in.

Plaintiffs PI attorneys, how many cases on average are you assigned to at any given time?

4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. I respect the solo a lot, he’s a mentor, but I’ve got kids and I gotta get paid. Trying not to burn bridges, but I can’t wait years to get cut in. Advice?

Hello all, I'm a very green attorney, never tried a single case or even was second or third chair, but managed to land a litigation associate position at a Plaintiff's firm. Does anyone remember their first trial? How did you feel and how did it turn out by comparison? Anything you wish you did differently?
I know in THEORY what the process of trials are but thanks to COVID I haven't been able to observe them in real life so I'm very nervous for the day I finally enter a courtroom.

Ethics Q: my client created fruaduant medical documents in order to try to recover extra benefits from her injury. My thought is to settle her case with insurance company for whatever nominal amount is offered ASAP. However, this might be lower than her case is actually worth despite the the fruad. I would rather end representation as soon as possible. Thoughts? California ethics apply.

I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases.
