Omnicom does W2 at least while I was there but the merger may have changed that. Dont know about Wpp
Publicis W2
W2 but it was at an independent firm. I was hired on FT shortly after anyway.
WPP does w2 in most situations.
So far in my first year only 1 gig has been 1099.
Most are all W2. Big states have all but obliterated independent contracting and all the agencies have nexus in them so they avoid 1099. Qualifying as one anymore you have to be a legit business. It’s sad. Once a very viable way to earn a solid income and have multiple clients. All in the name of “workers rights” It has not helped anything.
Omnicom is strictly on W2, and particular on what cases a 1099 will be allowed on. Also depends on the individual agency and what states they are registered to operate payroll in.
I'm a Canadian and I've worked two different 1099s. One independent and the other was owned by whoever owns We Are Social.
You can get 1099 anywhere.. you just have to satisfy the requirements. For me, 99% of the time I get 1099. I work with all the major holding companies and their smaller shops.
