Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

EY is 60 a month for cell and 25 a month for internet
I did the same thing a few years ago. It’s like trading a red car for a blue car. If they gave you a big bump, then it could be worth it, but it all levels out in the end
It's more or less the same

“Just boomerang back to EY at higher pay”. Your clients will be served by new teams, and your spot will be gone. I’ve seen it happen and people not be taken back. Boomeranging is possible but let’s not act like it’s a safety net you can count on while you run off to a competitor.
Why is no one talking about the current climate at Deloitte right now? Seems shaky. I’d prob stick with EY for now?
Yeah come to KPMG instead 😎
It really just depends combination of:
1) the team
2) your environment
3) pay 💰
That combo varies between everyone
Whoever can provide the better combo - the perks won’t matter

The truth is, the best thing you can do is leave the Big Four altogether. Deloitte and EY are just positions in high-turnover machines. Deloitte especially feels like a revolving door. The benefits don’t make up for the toxic environment: women being excluded, constant mansplaining, people walking on eggshells about being let go, even top performers. It’s not healthy. Don’t be swayed by a $1K wellness subsidy, you can afford that on your own at a firm that actually values you, gives you balance, and isn’t burning people out or replacing them like they’re disposable.
