Designated seats are a great way to get to know a class quickly....Even in High School.

Also, having the students sign in on an attendance sheet is a great way to hold them accountable.

Applied for a position in Johnson and Johnson Canada. Reached the final round 3 weeks back. After not getting any updates I emailed the HR a couple of weeks back. They responded back telling me that they’ll have an update for me the next week. Again I emailed them on Thursday asking if they have anything for me before the long weekend ( Good Friday & Easter). If your students are working on computers, have them move the chairs and face the screens toward you can see what they are doing.

Start each class with a few seconds of stillness. It takes consistent practice. Most students will blurt something silly out after about 4 seconds. Expect it and smile. After time is up ask students to notice what they were doing during that time. No shame. Notice and strive to be more still next.

2. Close the eyes.
3. Long exhales to bring in the calming chemical acetylcholine.
