McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!
Does anyone have Harry styles tickets for sale?

I hate to say it, but you got played. Wages are considerably lower in the South. If your company moved you up North and didn't adjust your salary to fit the labor market, they just increased their profit margin at your expense because they didn't have to hire someone who knows the salaries in that area. You have two choices -- take the job offer and leave or use that job offer-in-hand to try to get your current employer to do what they should've done when they transferred you.
the poster totally missed the point of your advice! perfect advice, btw. :)
If it is a better offer for you, then take it and make money while you can!!! These companies today have NO LOYALTY to their workers and will let you go in a heartbeat!
Unless there are glaring red flags you haven't mentioned about the new job, you should absolutely take the money. Companies have no loyalty to you, you shouldn't have any to them.
Did you have a checklist based on what you and where to go to find job security from the North to the South? Try salary.com based on your position and what jobs are still good for you to consider.

It took me 2 years to leave a job I had been at for 8 years. I even passed up on good job offers I received because I was so scared. I finally made the leap and it was the best decision I've ever made. Financially I'm in such a better place which has also gotten me to a better mental space as well. My biggest concerns was the stability of a non profit where they never let anyone go, and loving who I work with, and leaving that behind for the unknown. But I love my current coworkers as well. Should it have not been a great place to work I would have just searched elsewhere and stick around until I landed something new.
Hello!
Q: Is the new offer an administrative position?
I ask because you mention that the salary increase is “significant.”
You may have maxed out your salary here in the south, but that doesn’t mean it’s equivalent to matching your skills for what you could be paid in the north…you were told your “salary was perfect for my new area.”
Q: What prompted you to start interviewing?
Hi! Yes it’s an admin role, and you are 100% correct, I was maxed out in the south. When moving back north my salary should have increased for my current area. It didn’t and my attitude has started to reflect how undervalued I am. Updated my resume and social media accounts, interviewed a few times and was made an offer and immediately accepted! Now I have a bit of hesitation…BUT IM MOVING FORWARD!
Absolutely see if you can get a raise to match where you are. You should be getting the northern rate, definitely NOT the southern rate you're capped out at. If they say they can't(won't) do it,... 🎶so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye, GOODBYE🎶
