Yes - some districts make it much easier for clerks/waive fees.
Yes. And my judge did my swearing in, which was a special moment.
My district has an admission ceremony specifically for clerks (and waives the fee). Just about everyone did it from what I recall.
Not due to the clerkship, if that’s what you’re asking. I was admitted as a practitioner before clerking.
I didn’t and it was a regret of mine. My district didn’t have the waiver of fees or special ceremonies like some others mentioned but it would have been nice to do it in my courthouse with my judge.
Yes. We all got admitted to the circuit with our judge presiding. It was free while we clerked and I think standard for all the chambers.
I see. Some of my co-clerks asked to be admitted, so I am wondering if it’s something everyone does. For context, none of the judges here hire out of law school, so we all passed a bar exam and practiced (mostly in biglaw) before clerking.
