Did y’all get admitted to the district and/or circuit where you clerked before the end of the clerkship?

Yes - some districts make it much easier for clerks/waive fees.

Yes. And my judge did my swearing in, which was a special moment.

My district has an admission ceremony specifically for clerks (and waives the fee). Just about everyone did it from what I recall.

Not due to the clerkship, if that’s what you’re asking. I was admitted as a practitioner before clerking.

like

I didn’t and it was a regret of mine. My district didn’t have the waiver of fees or special ceremonies like some others mentioned but it would have been nice to do it in my courthouse with my judge.

like

Yes. We all got admitted to the circuit with our judge presiding. It was free while we clerked and I think standard for all the chambers.

I see. Some of my co-clerks asked to be admitted, so I am wondering if it’s something everyone does. For context, none of the judges here hire out of law school, so we all passed a bar exam and practiced (mostly in biglaw) before clerking.

Hi ! I have gotten an offer via email for what I believe is level 9 data visualization specialist in the dc area. I have a masters and 3.5 years of consulting experience. I’ve gotten an initial offer and trying to get some context on what the range is for this and whether I should push for more or accept. It is 5,000 above what I said my minimum was, but is significantly more than my current salary. Thanks for any input :)

Hi Fishes, I've been working as a Business Analyst for the past 13 months and now I've started to feel like I'm not learning anything new from the technical point of view, it's mostly just playing around with Excel and SQL occasionally python.
Though I am getting to learn a lot from a Business perspective but I still I want to get into more technical roles.I'd really appreciate if anyone could refer me or help me out in any way to get at least an internship or a full time role into Core Data Sci

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?

Ive been practicing in TX for 2-3 years at a big law firm doing mostly bankruptcy work (and some trial) and looking to clerk at a bankruptcy court in SDNY/DDE/EDVA (I am well aware of how great the SDTX judges are but I am set on leaving Texas). Anyone familiar with how many apps these judges normally get or what makes candidates stand out? Are these judges generally not interested in someone who has practiced in a different market?
