So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I started reaching out to people a year out. Most told me to reach out closer to the end of my clerkship, but I made a lot of connections and learned about a lot of firms. One firm pursued me and ended up making me an offer in Dec '21 to start in Fall '22.
I don't think it'll hurt to start getting your name out there now.
Also, some firms nalp directory entry will tell you specifically when to apply from a clerkship, so check that!
For anyone honestly around 8 months before you want to begin working
Mine was a year and a half (judge was trying to flip his start date) and I started applying about 6-7 months before and taking interviews about 5 months from the finish daye
It depends on the market. I started 6 months before. Clerks are now just as sought after as lateral associates and many firms will pay a referral fee. I would recommend finding a good headhunter in your area and asking them to help you. If you need one in DC/TX let me know, I know a guy.
Interested in TX headhunter.
I just made my account, so I'm unable to DM right now. /:
I applied in December ‘21 for a September ‘22 start date. Wrapped up interviews by January 15. Accepted an offer a few days later. Most courts have rules with respect to when you can start applying.
