We are hiring because we had several people leave, but I'm not sure we would be if we hadn't had them make their exit. We've actually had more people leave recently than I've seen in the last year or so. It's an interesting time, hiring-wise.
We've had a number of people leave too. But some of the backfills got placed on hold because they didn't get filled fast enough.
Our company continues to hire in the fourth quarter in fact we just reevaluated our needs and will be posting a number of jobs for nearly every department.
We just re-evaluated and are expected to double policies sold so we are DEFINITELY hiring

That's an interesting question. Conventional wisdom has always been that hiring picked up after Labor Day, and this year seems to have been an exception to that. It seems like most organizations are hesitant to do much hiring. If you watch the news all anyone talks about is all the "uncertainty" in the economy, and that attitude seems to have just put the brakes on hiring for the foreseeable future.

True. But the budget can also be an issue any time during the year.
