Do you check out a company's Glassdoor ratings or other measures before you apply? How do you decide when to go for it despite what you've heard? I'm never sure how much to believe.

I always do. I take reviews with a grain of salt since they skew negative by nature, but if the overall company rating is abysmal over a large sample size, I'm going to have some reservations about accepting an offer. But in this job market, those reviews would have to be really, REALLY bad for me to turn down an offer.

Take with grain of salt for sure. Compare it to their competitors and the general market. But I've found, insurance specifically, all the big dogs have employees that hate them. Lol sad but true. Look for key words in the reviews that might allow you to ask questions in the interview or research other topics related to that company from recent news. Good luck!

That's so true!! With big companies there are cranky employees everywhere. Not necessarily indicative of the team you're applying to.

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?
