Do you ever feel like women in finance are expected to do it all? Mentor junior staff, lead the women’s ERG, plan the holiday party—and still hit the same revenue targets as everyone else. I’ve been tapped to join three different internal committees this year alone, while my male peers focus solely on their books of business. It’s framed as “leadership exposure,” but sometimes it feels like free labor dressed up as opportunity. When does all this extra work start working against us instead of helping us grow?

I think these opportunities can be valuable, but only if they’re balanced and recognized. We need to start asking: Who’s benefiting from this work—and is it actually moving our careers forward? Visibility is great, but not if it comes at the expense of our core performance.

Bridge between Customer Support and Product Design?

Hiya! I am in the final round of interviews at an EdTech platform for a role that is the bridge between the Customer Support and UX/Product Design teams. I act as that bridge in my current role but on a more informal basis because it is a smaller company.

Would anyone be willing to share their perspective (positive or negative) on the Product/UX end of this relationship? I want to make sure to ask the right questions.
Thank you!

Is Federal/Public Sector consulting fulfilling work? I'm at a tier 2 consulting firm right now focused on retail clients, and I just feel like there is zero point to this work. Its all about increasing sales of a product that people could easily live without. As an Associate, I just move boxes around on PPT slides all day. Looking for better WLB and fulfillment in my work, thinking that might be Public Sector work.

Anyone have any reliable free resources (CLEs, practice guides) for tax law and estate/probate/wills? I don’t have the money for anything paid, but I’d like to selfstudy these areas in the meantime. My state bar and libraries don’t appear to have a practice series or anything like that, so it’s been hard finding something viable other than the ole’ Google and pray.
