Do you think you live paycheck to paycheck? I feel like as soon as my salary hits my bank account, all of it goes to my bills… I think I make an OK living as a restaurant manager, but I’m struggling. I make like double what I used to 5 years ago, yet I still feel like I’m struggling! Do you feel the struggle too?

I’m not paycheck to paycheck but I’d be in trouble if I missed 2 or 3. Most people don’t have any kind of long term emergency funds, me included.

Make more than ever and still feel further and further behind. Fortunate to get the bills paid and eat, but that’s it. As far as savings and emergency funds, I just don’t know how to swing it.

Sometimes people say lifestyle creep, but I’m living as normally as I can be! I definitely did not spend more when making more, the price of everything basic rose.

Not quite paycheck to paycheck, but I'm pretty darn close. If my hours were to ever get cut, I'd be struggling hard. I've got a small emergency fund set aside, but it wouldn't last me long at all if I lost hours or my job.

Oh I hear you! Mine is about as small as can be 😂 I'm trying to build it back up again. I was doing pretty good with it until I had to get my car repaired last month 😭. Which I guess is what it's there for, but it still was not fun having to spend the money on it. Ugh.

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
