My usual advice for rapidly increasing your salary is to hop between jobs if given the opportunity. Company loyalty is overrated imo, if someone wants to pay you more for a job you're qualified for then it's in your best interest to take it
Have you made an effort to bring it up to your superior? If you wait around for it to happen chances are you won't be getting it any time soon. Looking for other opportunities is also viable but there's no harm in trying to set up a meeting to discuss your performance and why you think you deserve a raise
I think the pay difference should definitely be higher than that, if you can't get a raise I think it would be your best bet to start applying other places. No reason to stay somewhere they don't value you
Ask for a raise! Don’t wait longer than 2 weeks for an answer, if they don’t seem the be interested in giving you a raise simply get out, in the meantime start applying somewhere else and see your options!
If you are referring to tipped employees making about what you make, and you are not a tipped employee, then that is completely normal.
If you are a hourly or salary, and the “shift lead” is also hourly or salary and you are only making .50 more then yes you have an imbalance.
It also depends on responsibilities too.
