At least at my big pharma the position title is basically up to the hiring manager. I’m Director level and a “Lead”, but I have a peer at director level who is a “Head”.
All over the place, varies a lot with the size of the place and what they think it means. Head of normally means your in charge of X but if the company is 5 people the head of can be a research Scientist. I would worry more about the leeway you get, the ownership of tasks etc

I say this as a ‘Head’: all these titles are just fancy labels we slap on to navigate the HR maze, where they are used to sort out who does what, who gets paid what, and who gets to sound important at cocktail parties.
It's all for levels in job scope. And every company is different, especially for the performance expectations of the role.
We have Leads who report to Managers, who report to Sr Managers, who report to Directors, who report to Sr Directors, who report to VP's, who report to another VP or a Sr VP, etc
Coach
Varies by company, Head in big pharma is usually VP and above, but in biotech could be even AD. I was a head and a AD at a mid size biotech, and now SD at big pharma but not head.
Thanks all
