Look at levels.fyi for companies which have high salaries. Then apply there.
That’s a stretch. Our tech directors don’t even make close to 220k. You’ve reached the ceiling and only an internal transfer would get you closer. Your best bet is to apply for senior roles.
Total comp or salary?
I had a recruiter reach out to me from AWS so no referral. I did have a referral at Atlassian though
Your best bet is probably a late stage startup (like D or later), or nabbing a L6+ role at Amazon or similar.
You're extremely unlikely to get higher salaries at that point especially since you're already at a $190k base. Why would a company be paying a PM that much money as a base salary? If you're providing a big impact and are very valuable, a company will try giving you compensation in the forms of performance bonuses, RSUs, and such.
Look at very high positions in big tech companies: those people are making around $200k base but then getting 6-8 figures of RSUs, bonuses, etc.
My advice is to look for companies that will offer you a higher total compensation while still having a higher base salary (doubtful it'll be very close or higher than your current salary).
