Does anyone else find that you come back from holidays / travel actually more focused?
I know a lot of people say its hard to get back in to the swing of it and they want to continue the time off, but for me there is something nice about a bit of routine and coming back to a job that I love. Anyone else have a similar mindset??

Yes, definitely! Travel clears my head and resets my focus. Once I'm back, I feel sharper and more motivated. It's almost like a soft reboot. There’s something refreshing about getting back into a rhythm after stepping away, especially when you actually enjoy what you do.

Absolutely! I am quite lucky that my work is results based, so I work from home as much as I would like. So usually when I get back from travels I just take a day or more for emails / organising and I usually don't get too disturbed! It is lovely :)

I always come back after a break feeling better about things. That is, of course, the whole point. The premise of time off is that it's supposed to be restorative and you come back refreshed. That's why working on vacation is a bad idea, it defeats the purpose of taking time off.

Absolutely, I remember when I was younger my parents used to bring their laptops on family holidays, and even at that age I understood that a holiday should be for fun / to have a break

At the end of the year, especially when we take off for so much time, I’m ready to go back to work at the end. Partially because I’m ready to return to my routine, and I’m feeling that renewed sense of motivation. Shorter breaks are a bit harder for me to get back in. I do sometimes want some more time off.

Yes I totally understand that. Sometimes if I take a long weekend of exploring then I feel like I haven't head a break in a sense ahah. Which sounds so silly. But yes after a long period of time off I do find it nice to come back to routine

Every time I come back from vacation I wish I would have tried harder to be a trophy wife when I was in my 20’s and hot AF. I’d either still be happily married, rich as hell, and contentedly unemployed, or I’d be happily divorced, rich as hell, and contentedly unemployed.

ahahha I love this! There's still time... :)

I wish I was like this 😂. Coming back from vacation always depresses me so much. It's like I get a week long taste of what life should be like, only to have it cruelly snatched from me the second it's over. It takes me at least a week to get back in the swing of things.

I totally get that! What life should be like is so different for every person. Maybe its a sign that you should try and find a job that makes you feel that happy and full of life all the time, Maybe one where you can remote work and travel too?!

I think it’s a sign of a good break!!

Absolutely! Coming back to a job you love is definitely a blessing. Being able to actually relax on holiday and not think about work is wonderful.

It honestly depends where the vacation was. I just got back from a trip to Europe, and while I do feel relaxed after returning, jet lag is also kicking my but. I feel hungover all day everyday trying to get my sleep schedule on track and my work is suffering.
