Ask about the interviewers hobbies and company sponsored sports leagues…etc… you’ll instantly find out if they have time for other things or work till you drop
That’s a great idea, thank you!
All about the career progression path beyond manager, the process and typical time to get there … and then ask off they would be part of your supporting group and who else they would recommend you connect with (assuming it’s a partner you’re speaking with).
In my experience being on engagements led by MD’s is useless for getting to partner. So watch out how you’re aligned especially if you go to Deloitte. Also if you’re eligible for a CPA and don’t have it yet avoid Deloitte they’ll mandate you get the cpa before they promote you!
All the best. (My spell check messed up some comments but I think you got the just of it).
You can probably ask if they know in which industry line this position will be working. Sometimes, they have an idea as to where the role will be placed. You can also ask more about the responsibilities for the role. Even though they might have written something down in the job description, sometimes it's general, and there are some things you will not do at all, and there are other tasks that are not listed in the description.
That’s great advice for some, thank you for sharing!
The role I am applying to is quite specific so I have a pretty good idea of which areas or teams I will be supporting but that doesn’t give me great insight into the hours because it’s an internal project-based team that’s only somewhat driven by industry line work.
