Does anyone know if hinge does shadow bans?

Ive gotten maybe 4 “likes you” over the past few days and have been maxing out my swipes since the year started. No idea what I could have done because I haven’t been on a date via hinge since October. photos are all recent and prompts are all filled out.

Check your settings maybe you have distance or age too restrictive. You can ask for profile advice from friends. Often people post their profiles on Reddit for crowd advice when they have low likes and often it’s a red flag they’re not aware of like men holding a fish.

Is 28-36 too restrictive? And I have 8 miles as my radius?

It’s possible. I’m F25 and have also been feeling like hinge has been worse recently

Everything is tailored for people to pay! They will advertise better matches! However, it’s linked to paying! Bumble does the same thing. Premium gets better matches. Men & Women.

You should have to pay for a dating app. Shows your serious. You can’t get everything for free!!

lowkey same but M25. decent looking and lot of matches but mostly from outbound likes. not really many inbound ones. dates not too much of a problem though but i guess that’s because we propose so have more control over it.

While Hinge doesn't officially confirm whether they do 'shadow bans,' it is possible that certain account activity might impact the visibility of your profile. A shadowban generally means your profile is still visible to you, but is hidden or less visible to others, which could explain the limited number of likes you're seeing.

If you haven't been active in terms of dates since October, it’s possible that Hinge's algorithm is simply deprioritizing your profile. The app tends to show more active profiles to users who are regularly engaging with the platform. Additionally, if your profile was flagged or reported for any reason (even if unintentionally), that could affect your visibility.

To boost your profile's engagement:

Update your photos: Even if your photos are recent, it helps to swap them out every so often or tweak them to match what’s currently trending in terms of quality and authenticity.

Engage with prompts: Make sure your prompts reflect a genuine, updated version of yourself. Hinge's algorithm tends to favor well-completed and unique profiles.

Try reactivating your account: Some users find that logging out and logging back in, or even deleting and recreating their account, can help refresh their visibility.

Be patient: Sometimes, profiles just need time to gain traction again, especially after a period of inactivity.

If you’re still concerned, reaching out to Hinge support might help clarify whether there’s any issue with your account or visibility.

Thank you for the encouragement! I tried going to events and meeting people in person but no dice :/

I did tell some friends I was looking so hopefully they’ll think through who they know and I’ll have some luck

When you're shadow banned, you can't actually send messages. Try sending something and see if it goes through

Hi everyone,

I'm going for a role for Account Director and have gone through the interviews with the head of accounts, BD as well as the ECD's. I received the following email at the end of the day:

"You are one of two candidates in the final round.

One thing we haven’t spoken about are your salary expectations. Could you have a think and let me know early next week as well as your employment status (residency permit)."

What would be the best way to answer this response? Appreciate the help

I’m confused by all these posts about Product Owners. I’ve worked at 3 Bay Area-based tech companies over 6 years and never heard of a Product Owner. As a product manager, i work with my engineering and design partners to figure out what to build and then build it. What role would a product owner play in all this? My honest assumption is that this role was invented by companies that want to pretend to be doing agile but aren’t really, but I’m open to being proven wrong.
