Does anyone still have/use physical business cards? I had someone give me a business card today and asked for mine and I had to tell them I don't use business cards....

I have a digital business card that works with a QR code or through NFC.

Still important for the time being

Depends on industry. I never got business cards since transitioning to IT 25 years ago. I used them prior, but personally disliked them. But for other industries like real estate they are still prevalent as the level of tech savvy varies among the profession. As an IT professional I’d rather just exchange via digital means.

I do with my contact info and with a high level skill set.

Critical for business with the Japanese

LinkedIn is the new business card

Sometimes I walk around my house calling my dogs name, pretending I don’t see him, even though he’s right there on the couch. I walk around “searching” for him. It makes me happy because my dog then tries to cuddle and jump on me as if to show me “hooman, what’s wrong with your eyes? Is I invisible?”

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

(1/2) Hi all, based in the UK 🇬🇧, would appreciate your advice on how I could break into product management.

Context: Graduated in 2019 (Finance), 2 years at EY as a business consultant on mix of pmo projects and tech projects where I was developer (data vis, power platform, sql, vba, data analysis etc.). Joined Google on a 6 month contract as a data analyst.

Should I be applying for product analyst roles? Should I apply for strategy consulting? Could I go straight for prod mgmt roles?
