Being prepared to commit. I hope your higher-ups understand that NetSuite is a full-time responsibility and it takes up a lot of time at first to implement. If the internal team responsible for the implementation also has other full-time responsibilities, then prepare for stress and possibly even burnout.
Would you mind if I picked your brain for any solutions/ programs your finance people use to manage their workload if any come to your mind? Not the big hulking complicating things like NetSuite
I’m curious about quick wins like DocuSign and the like, monthly payment licenses you can cancel at any time, easily integrate into most programs and workflows, take a major pain point and simplify it etc.
I may need to look into a few of these as a stop gap to free up some time for the finance team so they can focus on the NetSuite implementation when the time comes, and have them more involved in the implementation
KEEP IT SIMPLE! If you guys do go with NetSuite please keep it simple in terms of limiting (or avoiding at all costs) customization. It causes too many complications. Keep it clean and simple. Don't go overboard.
I think it depends on whether or not NetSuite has integrated with the middleware or service before because that determines how much legwork is needed.

For anyone curious about how I fit into all this, higher ups decided I’m the most tech savvy person we have (only joined in July) and I’m getting tapped for a ton of meetings involving IT upgrades with a lot of very senior people (this is my first role since graduating), and they’re giving a ton of weight to my opinions
If we need to pump the breaks, I need to be the voice of reason but I need to be able to speak from some place of experience, so I’m trying to crowd source some wisdom
That's a good approach. Don't let them push you into a ton of customization to start or it will significantly extend the amount of time it takes to get things off the ground.
