I use an XPS 13 2 in 1 and I love it. I find myself using the tablet mode pretty often. Usually when I am watching something or reading something. Was well worth it imo but I think the build can be improved. My screws popped out once and I had to get them fixed
Example, just two hours ago I was watching a movie in tablet mode on the plane. Especially with space concerns, the tablet mode was nice to have
2 years later have never used the tablet mode, nor have I ever seen someone else using it in that way. Seems over-engineered without a powerful enough use case being there
I’m in the same boat
I had the Samsung notebook pro before I got a MacBook. One of my major hesitancies about buying a MacBook was losing out on the tablet mode.
My Notebook pro was 15.6” and came with a stylus. That way I was able to mark up documents pretty effectively & use it to take a lot of notes without constantly having to scroll. I found myself using the tablet feature roughly once or twice biweekly. My quality of life hasn’t change much since losing this feature though, everything I used to do on my laptop I just do with pen and paper now.
If you’re going to get a 2 in 1 laptop I definitely recommend the Samsung notebook pro. It’s got great build & the stylus gets around the fingerprint issue if you’re good about using it.
