Has anyone left PwC while they still had an outstanding Educational Support Program repayment agreement? What is the repayment process like? Am I required to pay back the amount in full the day I leave the firm or is there the ability to do a repayment agreement? I’m looking at new opportunities and would like to have my new firm take on the amount of the tuition agreement ($14,000) but don’t know how much that might limit my options.
Hey anyway else here

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I asked the Partner on the Status Discussion call and they said since my lay off didn't have any global conduct or ethics issues I could come back if I wanted to. But really ask yourself... Do you really want to go back?
Same question, without the “off”
I came here for this. 🏆
Regardless, I’d say don’t go back. I was laid off of what I thought would be my dream job at Microsoft. I was devastated. That was 2005, so, 20 years ago. It started a huge career pivot. Looking back, it’s one of the top 5 most important events of my life. A layoff is gut wrenching in the moment, but can be life changing in the most positive way. It’s a cliche but every time a door closes, a window opens, look for the window.
Why would you ever want to come back to EY. No leadership, no strategy, and well, i could go on. Move on, my friend, and keep going. Do not
look back.
It’s the one company I’ve worked for where I had no idea who led the business.
You're not barred from re-applying, but this isn't the 1970s where you might expect a phone call in 8 weeks saying "ok, business has picked back up, can you please come back to your old job?". You're basically out and won't hear back again in the near future.
That firm has only gone downhill since Everest
It started going down well before Everest. The Vision 2020 plan is what started to kill the essence of the firm. Incredible drive to increase margin where eating hours became an all time high.
Yeah you can be hired back. But I doubt the group that laid you off would re-hire you.
I was at Deloitte at the time, but the only time I’ve seen this happen was in 2021- largely bc there were COVID layoffs early in the pandemic when people thought the economy was falling off a cliff, only for it to turn into the hottest talent market of my lifetime less than a year later and the firm was hiring anyone with a pulse and reaching out to “alumni” to see if they were interested in returning
Another round of layoffs at EY ? Is there anyone left ?
Yea. The annual Senior Manager Separation September had some blood. Feedback separations have occurred already a few months back.
Come to Accenture where we crash our own stock and reinvent
Wow just checked it!
I know people who were hired back after laid off
Same practice. That practice laid off 80% of the team though. A year later they hired a lot of them back.
No
Maybe on a different team, and your old team would need to put in a good word for you.
During the firms two rounds of thousands of people getting laid off over two years in technical consulting, our practice has rehired five or six people that trust the firm won’t do it again.
Another follow-up question if anyone can shed some light on this specifically in the U.S. - what if potential employer checks the eligibility for rehire flag during the reference checks ? And do they normally do it?
Thanks E1
