2yrs of post-undergrad experience at D and have offers from two FAANG companies. Worth it to stick it out for a couple more years to open up more offers down the road, or should I get out while I can?

OP what type of roles at FAANG?

like

I was in your position 2 years ago. I had one offer I really liked but didn’t want to take a hit to relative base comp (would’ve required a move to SF). I’d say take it. The opps I’m getting 2 years later aren’t vastly different and I definitely could’ve got them had I gone to FAANG 2 years ago

Thanks, D3 - super helpful. A1 - project manager at one, internal strategy at the other.

Damn that sounds cool. You should take it

Take it for sure! Don’t wait

OP could you give us advice/ tips on how to get the offers?

ATK 1 - based on my experience, you can never over-prepare for an interview. Very important to have pitches down for a variety of potential questions, and make sure you’re keeping up with current events, products, services, etc. At the end of the day, there are a lot of smart people that apply/ interview. What sets you apart are the unique experiences you talk about and your general demeanor and personality. Of course, this is just my $.02 and experience with trying to differentiate for strategic roles.

OP what service line in deloitte?

Senior analyst level or what?

Also, I learned that they like to hire people that are overqualified for their positions. Honestly makes sense, so wouldn’t shoot for a position that you’re very under-qualified for like you’d do for a typical industry position.

For "senior" roles at FAANG, does the title correlate well between the companies? Unlike the discrepancies we see between consulting firms? How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?

Working in my office used to be my primary source of work outfit inspiration but since working remote staying aware of what styles are in is nearly impossible. I live in a smallish town, so going out doesn't help fill in that awareness gap.
