Sanity check. Going to preface this by saying I'm not in a rush. I wanted to get some good consulting experience so joined EY out of UG. Got early promo, but I've reached the point where I'm no longer growing (learning) much on my current team. I've become very interested in PE and want to give that a shot. I lack the resume experience.

Thinking to move within EY to an M&A focused group SaT or EYP. Do ~2 years and see if I still want that. Will that tick the box for most PE shops?

The only place in EY that places into PE with any consistency is EYP strategy. That should check the box, but I can see headhunters being put off by someone who started in advisory (they’re very elitist like that). I would recommend applying to MBB for better odds

Appreciate the response EYP1. Exactly what I needed to line this up in my head.

I would imagine that transitioning from EY to EYP is not that straight forward either...

Yep. It’s easier to move to a different firm than to move internally. OP I would try for MBB and if not them LEK, OW or S&

Go for MBB. Your best shot. Still tough to move into PE.

Depending on the role in EY, it’s not straight forward either.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

Thanks

Is Capgemini a good place for a recent grad to learn more and solidify skills in statistics and machine learning? Would I be able to work on different projects? Good experience to get into big tech?

So, I've tried a few different positions and still hate practicing law BUT I was approached about a contract role that won't have billable hour requirements and I won't be steeped (I think) into the law firm's toxicity, so I'm wondering if it could be the closest thing to a 9 to 5 for law. Pay is hourly which seems weird, but I would have time to devote to hobbies and life generally. Has anyone been tempted by or accepted these contract opportunities, and what's your hot take?
