Does it look bad to apply R2 but quit after due date (before decisions)?

I have joined cts US in 2015. Moved to cts India in 2018. What is the notice period if I resign now in cts ?

I have got my L2 Dependent Visa stamped for the US through the Wife's organization and she has booked the tickets for the both of us in the next weekend. I am currently unallocated in TCS and seeking projects in the same US location as my Wife. Can I travel to the US just like that and then continue my search within TCS from there or do I need any approvals to even fly in the first place?
