It is worth writing if you can demonstrate a trend of improvement or academic excellence in the past.
Was your GPA significantly higher 3.6+ before or after those semesters? Did you perform well in any advanced classes? That could compelling story which is backed by facts.
If not, I would let your GMAT do the talking if you can raise it above the average of the schools that you are targeting.
Hey! So I got a 3.2 at Georgia Tech because of health issues and got into a couple of T15 schools. If that's your target, feel free to PM me and I can share what I did. If M7 is your target, I got rejected by all so 🤷

I had a 3.4 at Michigan because of mental health issues and got into an M7 with scholarship and waiting to hear back post interview from another. I addressed my health issues in the optional essays and pointed to the fact that my GPA before and after the semester in question were strong, and also calculated my GPA without that semester and included that number as well. It's definitely doable!
GPA 3.04 interviewing at M7; worked on startup last 3 semesters, fall from a 3.7 freshman year.
Ayyyy UC Berkeley gang. Same gpa
Ayyy love it
Thank you guys for the hope! As you mentioned SC 1, most semesters I had 3.3-3.7s, but there were 2 semesters where I got like a 2.6. Those semesters were the falls after I dealt with two independent sexual assaults over the summer. Would it still make sense to talk about those two semesters if my gpa for other semesters were not super high, but still higher than those 2.x semesters? Also Do y’all think it would be too personal to share those stories (would only allude to the occurrence, not go into detail about what actually happened). They did tank my performance, but also majorly play into my story and long term goals of providing mental health and sexual health resources for women
Oh wow I’m sorry OP. I think talking about something personal will go a long way in your story. I understand what you’re saying about owing bad grades to x when pre-incident grades weren’t so high either. I have a similar profile; got into M7. Happy to share via DM.
