I've found that when we give a set amount of sick days like that, people use them like a holiday entitlement. Ive heard people say they take it as they loose it otherwise.
Same here but it is their time to use as they see fit.
My company gives unlimited paid sick days, but if it's more than 3 in a row, we require a medical note. If it goes beyond 5 days in a row we might invite the employee to go on Short-Term Disability.
But you may work at a smaller company, in which case the absence of even one person for a few days can really mess up operations.
We get zero dedicated sick days. It all comes out of our PTO bucket, which means every time I get sick I'm choosing between recovering and having enough days left for an actual vacation. The American approach to sick leave is insane when you think about it for more than five seconds.
We have 5 paid sick days and 20 days PTO. You don’t have to do much to prove a sick day, which was very different from my previous employer. Has anyone else had to jump through a bunch of hoops for a sick day?
We don't require a note unless you miss more than 3 days consecutively. You can use sick time for yourself or family.
