Not in a position to say which is “more” important.
But it is VERY important to read with translation.
Both are important and both have their distinct rewards. No reason you can’t do both! There are Quran’s with translation and detailed explanations below each ayat.
Not to say I won’t read both

For me, its more important to understand the Quran what it is saying and I usually read the Quran in arabic and have an amazing simple English translation Quran with headings in it.
So it makes it more interesting to read and understand the Quran.

This is not sooo simple, of course sometimes I need to reach out to scholar to ask questions about what is happening here.
Example: On some places the Quran has a word ‘We’ I had to ask scholar about it and he told me ‘We’ refers to Allah in Quran to honor him.
I’m so sorry if I’m making it complicated for you but yeah, whenever I have any questions I talk to scholars and watch Yaqeen’s 30 for 30 to understand what is happening and what is the message for us.

For those of you that have read it with translation, is there a specific translation that you prefer to read?
Two very easy modern translations are by Mostafa khattab and Abdul Haleem. I'd check those out.
I haven't but I should. I don't know that it is more important though.
Read the translation cover to cover. I think the real problem people don't like addressing is that they don't know how to read the Arabic or have forgotten. It's ok try to learn.
