Ever been pushed out after going above and beyond for an agency?

I was sick for 10 days. The day I returned, my manager said: “You can start looking for a new job.” No context. No conversation. I resigned the next day.

I had led projects, managed a team, worked hard—for $55k. Eventually, I was headhunted for the same role at $80k. That reminded me: poor leadership isn’t a reflection of your value.

Been through something similar? Speak up. It matters.

I have been through similar. Unfortunately, it is typical of the American business model. If you have a contract, there may be some recourse. Typically, in sales, we land on our feet and have a better gig next time around, as you have. Good Luck to you.

I've been through a similar experience. I hope my next gig is better and pays more.

My partner and I are looking to move from NYC to Dallas in 2022. I’m in big law and he is a public interest lawyer. I can easily transfer within my firm, but he’s having trouble pinning down public interest opportunities in Dallas. It seems like they’re less available than NYC, but also not sure if we just aren’t looking in the right places. He currently does housing work but is passionate about civil rights and public benefits generally. Any tips on how to come by public interest opportunities?

Have 50k in a checking account at a local bank getting no returns. I like having liquid assets since I support currently myself & girlfriend and any unexpected expenses my mother & younger brother have. Any advice how to calculate what I should keep on reserve vs. invest + learn about consequences of pulling investments early (more tax, fees, etc.). I feel like the inability to access funds when my family needs it has been the reason I haven’t invested outside of 401k and have this cash reserve

I've been job hunting for a while now, and have yet to secure anything. I've made it through to the writing test a few times but haven't succeeded.
