Advice requested: I’m a 3rd year lit. associate at a mid sized, Manhattan, commercial firm. Generally feel that the partners like me and my work. I’ve been pretty busy over the last couple of months and have felt a bit behind on assignments and a little careless. I haven’t made any major mistakes, but some minor careless ones (e.g., highlighting cases from wrong court in an informal research email, but correcting it before anyone said anything). I guess I just feel that I’m not efficient ..

I’m in a nightmare case involving multiple claims of professional negligence against many people/entities. The two person firm representing the plaintiffs has filed 6 notices of unavailability and essentially refuses to allow depositions or motion practice to occur. Is there a way to ask for court intervention to move this case forward? CR 16?

Do indie filmmakers often use freelance social media consultants to help with promotion?

Has anyone here gone to or considered therapy? A combo of being unhappy/overwhelmed at work and feeling stalled on development areas. Any thoughts (except judgy ones) much appreciated!

I am a project manager with the strong desire to transition into product management but I’m feeling a little discouraged. Every opportunity I come across mentions 7-10 years experience. I just started training for the Google UX certification with hopes that may better prepare me. Any other suggestions? Words of advice on how to best make this transition?

I’ve learned my boss is moving on to new opportunities, and there isn’t any plan to refill their role, which will leave me as an HR team of one. I don’t have the experience to fully take on all the work, but plan to give it my all.

Does B4 let people go the same day as their resignation only if they’re going to a direct competitor? How about MBB or a tier 2 consulting firm?

Have people been let go immediately in case they go to FAANG or other industry firms?

If I leave or am fired and my contract requires 2-weeks notice will I still get paid for those 2 weeks if they tell me to leave on day 1?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

With the huge budget my company sets aside for advertising, lots of people think that marketing execs are really well paid. I WISH!!!

9 years experience as a paralegal (labour law for 6, 3 others in commercial litigation)

I’m 25 (male) with collectively 4 years of accounting experience. I have a masters in data analytics and am working in manufacturing. I am also working towards a CPA. I make 67k base with possible year un bonuses. (<3k)

I have worked at two companies so far (one for 3 years as an intern then staff and the other for a little over a year as a staff). The first company was very small they took me seriously and I thrived. I left that company for the (see thread)
