Ever have a moment where you suddenly look at your workspace and it feels completely foreign? Like 'did my life really lead to this desk, this chair...?' Anyone else get those existential work crises?

Yes, I am working in an environment that I did not plan for myself, however, the job pays decent and it seems as though that is the only thing that matters nowadays. If I had it my way, I would have utilized my degrees and exploring the world.

I get that feeling occasionally for all aspects of my life. My desk, my home, my partner, everything. I never could've imagined any of this for myself when I was sixteen, I thought I'd be dead by now, but I'm very happy that things turned out the way they are.

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?

For example, it sounds like I should not expect a document management system, based on a prior post in this bowl. I’m guessing expenses like state bar fees and cell phone are not reimbursed.

Any advice on things to expect (or not expect)?

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

Does anyone know of any remote contract jobs in auditing? Specifically, risk management, compliance or internal auditing? I’m able to work 20+ hours a week. I’m a detailed-oriented person and and a great communicator. I also have a lot of experience in presentation design and enjoy doing those a lot. I would prefer a contract job receiving a 1099 and am not interested in being a w-2 employee. Please let me know if any of you have any referrals. Thank you and I appreciate any tips you can give.

Additional Posts in Administrative Assistants

Happy Wednesday everyone. I'm so excited, I have a recruiter call scheduled with @Meta for Administrative Partner position. I've been in my current employer role for 19 years and I'm nervous as heck. I haven't had to do an interview in so long. Can someone please tell me what to expect with the recruiter call? I'm assuming it will be mostly about the role, my skills and background? Do they ask salary expectations? I have no idea what to say for the salary question. Feedback appreciated. Thanks

If you have to schedule multiple 1:1s between your exec and other execs, what process for scheduling do you use? Do you send individual emails to each exec’s AA/EA with availability included or do you send a mass email to all the needed AAs/EAs with availability included?

Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.
