You're absolutely right—talent, skill, and knowledge are personal, not position-based. If an employee is more skilled or knowledgeable in a particular area, that shouldn't be threatening; it should be seen as a win for the team. Ideally, a great manager would recognize and elevate that strength, not suppress it. But yeah, in the real world? Not every manager has the emotional maturity to do that.

It's quite common among many bosses. They like to maintain control and constantly remind their subordinates of their superiority.
If you’re collaborative, respectful, and focused on collective growth, a good manager will see your knowledge as a win for the team, not a threat to their ego.
