A colleague of mine was poached by a plaintiff side firm. I’d been approached by two plaintiff lawyers before but only as “do you know anyone looking?” (Idk does that mean they’d talk to me if I were?) …. I don’t want to do the type of law I do forever. Fellow ACDs, I have a question. Since becoming an ACD, It feels a lot like project management and wrangling creatives to get their work done. I don’t remember being this dismissive of my projects as a Jr/Midlevel. I feel more like a creative babysitter that picks up scraps than it actually feels like improving the work. I try to talk to them/help manage their time but I feel like they inherently lack motivation. What is y’all’s experience as an ACD? Is this what it’s like usually?

Recent graduate was laid off, have applied to dozens of jobs and still have been unable to land an offer. I interview well have a strong resume. Very concerned I might not get hired. Any advice, tips or general comments are welcomed.

Is anyone else having a challenging time recruiting? I’m working on an accountant role and affiliate marketing manager role based in NYC and having the hardest time connecting with people who meet the qualifications. I have a bunch of senior people applying to these jobs asking for much higher salary requirements than what’s being offered. For areas sparse with opportunities, do you tend to look at all potential candidates within the team to fill or do you default to nearest body and/or a person that someone has pushed? Merit vs game?

When given a PM interview project to complete “as soon as you can”, is it a red flag if you ask a clarification question the day after you receive the project?
