I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

This has been my life since 2023, Ive submitted nearly 2100 applications, 95% ghost me. No contact no rejection, 3% of them that do see my application let me see round 1 of interviews and then ghost me. of that number less than 1% string me along and make me do hoops like a circus monkey to round 3 only to reject me. Ive had some of the most stupidest rejections, from; "You are a strong candidate, we cant hire you because you might be bored of this role" to "We closed this job rec because its been fulfilled by AI". I understand exactly how demoralizing and mentally taxing this is..it makes you feel worthless and you want to crawl in a hole and die. But you cant let it keep you down. Keep trying. Keep chipping away at it. One day all this will be over.. you just need 1 yes out of 123801023 nos.. im still at rejection number 2130 and ive got a few interviews lined up for next week. Keep going! you can do this! Its not you, its the market.

Sorry to hear that but know you’re not alone. And it’s not you or your skill set, that’s the industry right now.
2100 apps is brutal, esp when most of the pain is just silence. At that point I’d stop assuming it’s only “the market” and start testing the resume itself against each JD, because even tiny keyword gaps or weird formatting can tank you before a human sees it.
What helped me was making 2 versions of my resume, one cleaner ATS-safe version and one a bit more polished for humans, then tracking which roles actually moved past screen 1. I also noticed a dumb old header + table layout was quietly messing up parsing on some systems, which i never would’ve guessed.
If you havent already, try comparing your resume word-for-word against a couple postings in the same lane, then trim anything that doesnt match the role. I ended up using ResumeJudge for the JD-by-JD check, but Jobscan / SkillSyncer / Resume Worded all kinda point at the same issue: if the role says “stakeholder mgmt” and your resume only says “client comms,” that alone can change the result.
That weird “you might get bored” rejection sounds like they were reaching for a reason, not actually giving you real feedback.
