Have you seen the copy that gets approved by clients?
AI won’t be a threat to actual creativity for a very long time.
Until then, clients can maintain their power in doing that.
I am trying to expand my skills by becoming more of a strategist than just a writer. I think writing itself may easily be automated but strategizing and client work will not be automated anyyy time soon
Prepare by learning how to use it. If you don’t want to, that’s too bad.
I’ve used AI tools for copy. They’re still pretty bad at being creative. They are ok at non-creative. But they don’t bring a POV. They’re good to use as a starting point.
I believe AI can currently write 80-90%of all ad copy. It won’t do a good job, but most people won’t care.
An ai generated ad just won a major award at canes this week and my agency has been decreasing the number of freelance writers and having non creative account managers use ChatGPT to create social calendars and blog content. We are also using an ai site to create video content instead of hiring videographers or editors, so I do think ai is a major threat to many people’s careers.
At first I was in the humans will win out camp but my feeling now is we’re kind of fucked. I’m sick of managing people and have been thinking about going back to a more hands-on role but think I’m going to stay on the management side for a while longer because robots haven’t figured that out yet. Then again, if the only people to manage are robots………🗑️😑🔥
