I don’t care if a person went to school at all anymore.
Plenty of fellow Ivy League MBAs don’t deserve the opportunity they were given. Some of my smartest colleagues and most brilliant engineers barely graduated highschool.
The key to hiring truly talented people is putting in the emotional labor to do REAL due diligence when interviewing. Are they bright, experienced, a logical thinker, etc.? Have someone with high emotional intelligence on your interview panel. You know who these people are when you meet them.
As our leadership teams start incorporating younger generations, this is going to become a more widely held practice.

I don't deem degrees past a bachelors worth a certain level of qualifications. I like the bachelors b/c it shows drive and that someone is willing to put in the time and effort, but ... these days an MBA doesn't mean you're more qualified than someone without, just means you took the time and spent the money.

I’m worried about my Florida degree soon meaning nothing s our governor completely ruins the education parameters in our state. That said, I can lean into the year I graduated to confirm I got a real education.
Honestly, these days Thoery is not as useful as practicality. it all comes down to
Personality and what experiences that person has achieved in life. Anyone can get an MBA but not everyone can have the smarts and the qualities needed for a business person. Work on getting as much experience as you can get, have a mentor to guide you and read books or seminar that build on the characteristics of a good leader. Good luck.
Nope. Wouldn't care. I'm only concerned if I know the specific program at that school is garbage, but I don't really care if it's an east coast or west coast school.
I live in Phoenix and have an MBA from a school in the Midwest. It’s never been a concern.
