If you want to make partner in consulting, then for sure BCG directly is best. If you want to rise up in the corporate world, then Walmart.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my career, it’s to do the thing now that you want to be doing in 10 years, not something you think will prepare you for that thing in 10 years.

I love this piece of advice!
Consulting is for people who don’t know what they want to do. Also the BCG people on fishbowl convinced me you’ll work with much nicer and smarter people at Walmart
I’m not moving to Arkansas

There's a lot more going on in Bentonville than there is most places in the region, because the city is practically built around Walmart. Might surprise you!
PM will have better exit ops imo, many big 3 consultants try to break into PM

"Big 3 consultants" lol
PM. everyone and their grandma at an MBA program with half a brain can get an MBB offer
Winners win
PM if you want to be there long term. Walmart has a good network, I work with a few ex Walmart Tech folks. They are great.
Walmart PM. Easier to get an offer at BCG again vs Walmart. Leverage the BCG offer to get more money from Walmart

Depends on your end goal
If the PM role is very close to the money then Walmart, if it’s PM for some internal role that no one cares about, BCG could be a better choice
PM at Walmart - industry over consulting anyday - especially after MBA.
Walmart if you want to do PM after BCG. BCG if you don’t care much about PM/tech.
The main product office is in California. I was with Walmart for over ten years before moving into consulting and would go back in a heartbeat.
Which career line pays more though? Product Management or Consulting?
Depends on the comp. Follow the money, and if the money is similar follow your professional interests.
BCG without knowing any other details
Product manager over anything.
There is a 3rd option: Wal Mart greeter development program.
I've interviewed with walmart for senior manager of product and am currently in consulting. I'd go for walmart if you want the pm title and have your eyes set on tech. I'll be leaving consulting to go to tech soon. Easier to go from tech to consulting than vice versa imo.

If you want to go product, Walmart hands down
