Left and got a 30% uplift for my total comp - but more importantly I’m home with my family rather than on the road and working insane hours!!
Where did you go?
I was hoping for a 10% pay bump but might take a 10% cut. Which is fine bc I’ll be working much less hours (like 20-30% less)
Where did you go?
I think it largely depends on the industry and the level you’re leaving consulting at / joining at the new company.
When I left consulting as a Sr Consultant to a Manager in industry, I took a 15% pay cut. Now that I’ve been in industry for 5+ years, I think that if you go into industry at Director level or higher, you don’t have to take a pay cut and can get a nice bump. That’s because at many industry companies, Director+ level unlocks a new pool of bonuses like LTI, etc.
I left as a b4 Senior Manager for a minimal bump (I don't remember exactly, but would guess 5-8% base), however my eye twitching stopped within a month, I now have dinner with my partner every night, have time to workout, read, relax when I want and not when my work allows.
Where did you go? Sounds like the dream!
I’m expecting more or less the same base maybe +/-5% but larger than consulting bonus / equity so hopefully TC would be a 15-20% bump
Received offer from a startup - it was like 1% cut on my consulting base + bonus. But I’m still looking
