For those with chronic illness, how did you set your limits and respect them to avoid crashing? I have dealt with arthritis since I am a teenager and I have been practicing for 5 years. My team is supportive, but I don’t know what limits I should enforce to help myself. Just took two weeks of PTO & my body completely crashed. I have been sick, needed lots of sleep & lost my voice, probably due to too much work/ stress and not prioritizing enough my health. How do you manage daily?

I take meds to manage migraines that come with debilitating vertigo. When it's truly bad, you can absolutely see via my face/actions/speech that something is off. The vertigo will take me out for a solid day.

No one will enforce your limits except you. Whether that is taking breaks at certain times, going to medical appointments, therapies, etc, limits will help. My body doesn't care if I feel bad about missing work. At some point, it will just fall apart. Do I like my necessary habits? No. Will they keep me from crashing? Absolutely.

Hope you're feeling better.

Can you adjust your schedule going forward so you build in more downtime and breaks, by taking intermittent FMLA, going part-time, working from home more, or some combination of these strategies?

Check askjan.org for accommodation ideas for your chronic illness.

I would explore how to adapt your workplace to your needs. Even small changes may be helpful.

Modafinil and working from home/ taking afternoon naps when needed

Can anyone let me know how easy it is to apply to a consulting firm in Dubai directly coming from London? I am currently working at a T2 strategy firm in London and my partner and I want to relocate in ~1.5 years. My firm does not have an office in Dubai whilst my partners firm does. Is it possible to apply straight (rather than moving laterally in London, waiting a few years then transferring?) interested in MBB views too. (I would have roughly 2.5 YOE by then)
