For those of you who build websites, how do you display your built sites on your portfolio site? Do you have a page where you mock up the site or do you do a direct link? I currently have both. I’m just trying to figure out the best way for me. Here is my site for reference. The links for the sites are in the menu and below in the gallery. Sarahbellestudios.com

Coach
Do the training and get the skills. Expanding your skillset can only help you as a designer. Folks who tell you not to bother either haven’t been able to or wont survive in the industry.
As someone in UI/UX I say, don't bother coming over, I don't need more competition. As a fellow, I'd say do it. AI can't touch the human element that goes into crafting engaging UI and experiences [yet]. Graphics as a discipline has already fallen to AI slop.
I digress, it's a good field to be in, lots of autonomy–teams rely on your strategy and systems thinking rather than just styles & aesthetics. I spend more time talking about user needs, interactions, and overall strategy versus visual semantics.
Instead of basing the decision on the industry outlook, I'd say follow what you enjoy doing because I work tough hours that span year long projects, compared to short-term graphic requests.
It is true in both. But as the second statement says glutted, it is also full of half baked people.
If your skill is solid and has portfolio and result number to back you up, you are golden.
We like to hire a quality staff and not worry about removing the one who ain’t. Training cost a lot of money and time.
That is a really good question. I feel like I hear both things as well. But being that there are open roles, I would say get solid skills.
Everything is more UX/UI than it’s ever been and will continue to be. If you plan on staying in the industry, it’s as crucial to keep up with as any of your software. I wouldn’t invest dollars but some of your time and consideration. I think organically, you can grow from the work or the people you work with enough. More and more the thinking is built into platforms and software.
