Remember no one ever dies from an accounting emergency
Take it one day at a time. Balance is best thought of , in my view, as achieved over time. You will not balance everything every day. There will be days in which you will feel you are not doing either work or motherhood well. Everyone feels this, you are not alone. Ask for help. Also remember to take time out for yourself as well. Hang in there!

Remember that switching over to private industry is an option. I know many who switched once they had their first kid to get better work flexibility and work-life balance. Public accounting is hard on anyone, but especially new parents.
