Good evening everyone,

My salary is less than 12 lakh. Far too less than that but my company keeps deducting TDS, arguing that 10% tax deduction is mendatory (as part of cpany policy) for contractual employees, and that I can just claim it back through ITR. But ITR is a long process and I can not afford my already less salary of 20k INR to face further deductions.

Is there anything I can do about this?

I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)?
