I am doing as much networking as I can and checking job boards daily. I tailor my resume for each role. My background is IT audit/compliance. I would like to transition from the federal space consulting to industry. I am interested in healthcare or tech

Tailor your networking strategy to people in roles at companies you’re interested in. Quality over quantity is important. Offer to buy them coffee and ask about their career, how they got their current job, and if you vibe well with them- ask them to keep you posted if anything in their company opens up. This gives you an inside track to positions vs applying to public postings. Send follow up thank you cards, handwritten is even better to be honest since it’ll make you stand out.
Some things to prep: What’s your elevator pitch? In 30-60 seconds: Why do you want to pivot and what makes you a good candidate for the healthcare or tech role you want? What makes you an asset to a company?
Use AI to tailor your resume to the job posting/description.
Also try to find people on the team at the company you are applying to by using LinkedIn. Then cold message or email them letting them know that you applied to a certain role, why you believe you would be a good fit, and want to know if they can get your resume to the hiring manager. Sometimes it works other times it doesn’t but you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take
